Reaching the age of 40 has been an exciting milestone for me. It marked a new chapter in my life; filled with opportunities to reflect, learn, as well as dive into the understanding of eternal grow.
At this point, many of us can look back and see how our experiences—both joyful and challenging—have shaped who we are today. Instead of feeling daunted by entering the big 40, I will continue to embrace it with gratitude and joy. Turning 40 often sparks a desire for personal growth. This decade is a fantastic time to set new goals while cherishing lessons from past endeavours - walking with wisdom, as I like to call it!
Cultivating a mindset geared towards continuous learning has been key for me. I would share some advice - especially important for us, as women.
Art/Languages/Sport/Music: Exploring outside of our comfort zone often becomes easier when we dare to try. If you don't try, you don't know. This year, I started a new sport (which I absolutely adore) and I continued to explore my connection with music. In the meantime, I have also been practising more tennis and badminton.
Retraining/reshaping our career: After having kids, it is useful to check-in whether everything is still in alignment. 6 years ago, I took a leap of faith, and started working closely with families, young adults and children.
Volunteering/Humanitarian work: It will always give you a sense of purpose, belonging and the skills that you actually learn during this time is 100% transferable.
Motherhood: Many mothers undermine their roles as stay-at-home mothers. Yet, there is an endless list of skillset you need to manage, care and educate children. Mothers, you are not invisible!
Shifting a hobby/passion you are good at into business - to help others, all the while helping yourself.
Having a community/support network to value and witness our growth is essential and healthy.
Happy Tuesday and month of December,
